Christina and Matt’s story began with a simple swipe right on Bumble, a fortunate connection for the two of them, especially since Christina had just moved back to St. Louis after living in Hawaii, South Carolina and California for 11 years. Their first date at Mission Taco proved to be the perfect welcome home. While Christina might have initially thought Matt’s texting skills were questionable, she managed to get him talking non-stop throughout that first evening. For her part, she might have seemed a little too eager when she hopped on a barstool to wave him down when he arrived at the restaurant, but little did they know that the conversation would flow effortlessly from that moment on. That first date sparked something special, leading to an entire week of back-to-back dates. They quickly discovered their shared passions for traveling, hitting the gym, playing with their dogs, embracing a healthy lifestyle, sharing endless laughter, and always seeking out new adventures.

This incredible journey together reached a new milestone on August 1, 2024, when Matt orchestrated a beautiful surprise proposal. Telling Christina they were heading to an ARCO work dinner at The Ritz, she was further convinced by the ARCO signage posted upon arrival. However, instead of a work event, Matt was waiting for her in the stunning solarium, surrounded by cocktail tables adorned with flowers and cherished photos of their time together. There, he asked her to marry him, and the celebrations continued with a special dinner joined by their parents.

Christina, a former collegiate volleyball player at Hawaii Pacific University, is a Physician Assistant with Mercy Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, working in both the clinic and operating room to help athletes recover from sports injuries. Matt, originally from Springfield, IL and a former football player at Missouri S&T, now excels in business development with ARCO National Construction. Their shared background in competitive sports and their dedication to their careers make them a dynamic and supportive team.
